For that, I ended up plugging it into a friend's computer that does run Windows 10 so I could see what I was doing better, figured out my password that way (cos like in Linux you can't see what you've entered so I wasn't sure if I was typing it in wrong or what) and then I got rid of the password entirely and used it in Linux. For the password problem, that was more due to the fact that I had forgotten my password.

I posted the link in the OG post for the way I figured out how to mount it and make it work and all that. The above tutorial is still helpful in figuring out how to get Linux to work with it properly in the first place. I ended up running the troubleshooter on a friend's computer through Windows10, which fixed the file system, and then it mounted in Linux no problem. Filesystem is NTFS, which I thought would work with Linux.Įdit 2: It couldn't mount because the file system got corrupted somehow probably didn't unplug it properly or smth.
